Pavlyuchenko admits to Spurs move

Roman Pavlyuchenko has told the Russian media that he is poised to join Spurs.

I can confirm I'm joining Spurs. Right now I'm getting my visa and as soon as it is ready I will fly to England to sign a contract," he said.

"Everything has happened very quickly so I could not even say goodbye to my team-mates."

Pavlyuchenko added that he would not play for Spartak in their Champions League qualifier on Wednesday.

BBC Sport understands that the deal is not yet a formality ...

Reports suggest that Blackburn have made a �9.5million bid for Valencia winger Joaquin.

Joaquin has been strongly linked with a move to Ewood Park as Rovers boss Paul Ince searches for a replacement for David Bentley.

Monday's rumour mill saw talk of Rovers lodging a bid in the region of 12million euros (�9.5million) for the 27-year-old.

In looking at the major moves that are being suggested and assuming that there is an element of truth in the rumour, do you consider it a good move for both teams, a bad move for both teams or a move that benefits one team over the other?

Now there is no doubt this boy has alot of talent and has been a major factor in the Russians beating the Dutch in the last round.

Suddenly he is a world talent with many pundits saying he is on a par with Ronaldo and pointing out he has done more in the two games he has played in this years Euro's than Ronaldo has done in 3 major tournaments.

I dont know all about that.... I kinda feel the boy has excelled at a Euro's that has been poor for new talent coming through with only his country ...

Aston Villa have today rejected a new bid from Liverpool FC worth �15 million. The bid is believed to be a straight cash offer, unlike Liverpool's last rejected bid, which consisted of 4 players plus a cash amount of �8 million.

Turkey is finally out of the Euros but they have played their hearts out and where unlucky not to beat the Germans today. They could have been up 2 or 3 goals before the Germans even woke up, couple of crossbars and a couple of nice saves by Lehmann. I thought Rustu was the Turks weakest link and he totally misjudged the cross on Klose's goal and went down to early on the winner by Lahm. Sad to see the Turks out they were one of the more exciting teams at the Euros at least in the dying moments.

The lottery of penos sees Spain knock Italy out of the 08 championships.

I actually think Italy played for penalties, I saw nothing which showed me otherwise.

Why Spain didnt look for width when they saw 4 central midfielders up aginst them is beyond me - once or twice the front two and Silva got one on one with the fbs, but just not enough.

Luca Toni did nothing in this tournament, not sure Italys style helped, but he was pretty hopeless.

This semi final (Spain/Russia) is a mouth-watering ...

the end of that game just beat the previous Turkey game.

What the hell is wrong with the turks? - how are they doing this?

They have been ahead for only 2 minutes in their 4 games so far - unbelievable.

They geniunely dont know when they're beaten.

Czech 2-3 Turkey

Not in terms of quality produced, but sheer drama - how Turkey pulled that out of the bag I am still trying to find an answer to.

Koller shouldve wrapped the game up earlier on, and the turks rode their luck - but for pure spirit, grit and determinatoin, that was a great football match to watch.

The final goal was an outstanding finish - they did get a "helping hand" from Petr though - oh dear another mistake.

Many said France were one of the favs for this years finals, but it looks as thou there players are old and past it.

The loss of Zidane and other players well past their best left them short of legs throughout the team.

Watching Makelele be their most creative player in the middle of the park said it all really.

Holland on the other hand go from strength to strength.

They wont win it.... but will entertain while they are

Good enteraining game.... not seen Germany play so bad in a long time.

To be honest, I dont think Croatia are all that..... the 2nd goal was shear luck.

Once Germany got going after the 2nd goal they looked like they could pull it back.

Not that the result was any suprize, but how does it make you feel watching how bad Russia are when you think they knocked us out?

Spain dismissed Russia with ease and it looked very much like the game at Wembley where we too tore them apart in the first half.

Those idiots on the BBC were purring about Spain and talking about this could be there year.

Same idiots who said the very same thing after Spain beat Unkraine in their opening match in the last world cup by a bigger margin ...

Really enjoyed tonights game and very happy I decided to sit in the garden while the French were playing... I hear I missed the worst game for years.

Holland suckered the biggest defensive country with 2 glorious goals and a helping hand from a linesman.

I dont think they will win the competition as the Dutch will self distruct at somepoint, but tonight was a great night for all lovers of the Worlds fav game.

Is there any interest in running a contest based on Euro 2008 similar to the Premier Challenge?

You can't have points for Home and Away wins, since every one is away except the host teams.

Could break it into three rounds since every team plays three games in the round robin.

Could even do a Silver and Golden game

Any suggestions on how to determine points or whether there is interest in this let me know.

Reports in todays press claiming both "will see what happens after the CL final".

Not sure how the Carvalho one came about, but Ronaldo was being interviewed on Spanish TV and said he will look at his situation after the cup final - and he knows Real Madrid and other clubs "like the way he plays".

Heard this on a football forum from a West Ham fan who in the past has had decent information.

Ginaluca Nani scouted him and started his career and goes to see him every other week and Curbishley has also flew out to meet him and has had a meeting with him. They are not sure they can sign him but he is rumoured to be available for around 8 million.
